2 Hana's Work 04.03.13

A Short Story

Like any other ordinary day in California, feathers drifting around the fresh air, the shrieking rooster sings in a high pitch disturbing the previously calm landscape. It was dawn and the boy called Shane woke up to the sipping of his blissful kitten, soothing his parched throat. “Hey, Skinny Minny, save some for later!” giggle Shane still lying on his stained ‘so called’ mattress. “Come on Kitty Cat, let’s get some fresh air!” Shane announced scratching his irritated skin.

Shane, clutching his beloved cat, strolling under the stifling sun spotted his favourite Jaguar. “Eh, me ‘n’ you in a vroom vroom jag,” yelled the boy. The city was getting extremely scorching and stuffy so the pair began to make the home.

In and out, dodging the barbed wires, Shane and the no name cat spot a mysterious shadow. The purring of the kitten echoes the small and derelict den. The outline is a young boy who looks around the same age as Shane. Clasping a bronze emerald-eyed kitten the boy also freezes. “Hello, what are you doing here?” they both chanted. Both of the kittens meow and clench each other’s dry paws strolling out of the wrecked den. Still in shock, the lads both drenched and dirty, constantly eyed each other and forgetting the cats. Both of them suddenly grin which becomes a chuckle and then a deafening laugh. “So what’s your name?” they say in unison. “Shane,” “Eddie,” they giggle. “I live here,” Shane explains. “So do I!” Eddie says. Shane and Eddie talk and talk until Eddie gasps, “Where’s my Whiskettes?” Shane repeats, “Where’s my Spitfire?” “NOOOO!” they roar.

Gunshots fire in the eerie air as the two kittens say their last meows…

THE END.

  1. Well Done Hana! You used lots of drop in clauses such as: In and out, dodging the barbed wires,Shane and the no name cat spot a mysterious shadow.

You could have used other names for the cat, not only the cat with no name.

  2. i think its really discriptive with good words like blissful, deafnining and mystrious shadow.

You can improve on using diffrent names for the cat with no name.
