The
Monster
Clawed
into a wooden wall tallies engraved in blood dripped into the infested and
mouldy water. A merge of vomit and urine flowed past me as constant
pitter-patters filled the eerie landscape. An intricate door handle stood
before me smothered in crimson blood. What sinister figure lurked before me? I
could nearly envisage the blood-curdling creature pierced with stab wounds and
malicious glares.
I
could almost feel the perilous breath gazing over me, taunting me again and
again. I could smell fungified rodents crawling over its satanous body. These
hallucinations will haunt me forever. My heart cannot take this any longer, I
could feel death any minute.
It
gives me shivers to have the feeling that devious eyes are fixated on me. How
will I survive this dreadful havoc? If only I wasn’t so stupid to have listened
to my friends.

To the
Minister of Education,
I am writing
to express my feeling towards the elimination of SAT’s. I am a concerned 11
year old who is dissatisfied about the daily curriculum. I believe that SAT’s
bring nothing but demotivation, deprivation and numerous losses of enthusiasm.
Surely you
must agree, that children are much too young to be tested during their ‘thought
to be’ childhood. This obligation mustn’t carry on, how would you feel? In
contrary, high expectations create anxiety, pressure and fatigue. Also,
statistics show that when tested, children aren’t able to showcase their
exceptional abilities.
In addition,
with many hindrances, children depart from primary school with an etched
permanent lack of self-esteem. 80% of time is spent on boring English lessons
and Mathematics per day! This extensive education does not provide an
improvement to our learning. Burden on young shoulders, engraved nightmares, do
you really want all this on your conscious?
Furthermore,
this eviction is vital to all children in England. Statistics show that
children in school in Sweden begin school at the age of 7, whereas British
children begin at 3. Swedish children, however outperform us in GCSE’s with an
average of 95%. As a result it is proven that with education mixed up with fun,
children enjoy school and perform highly in class.
Overall,
recent surveys show that children thrive when learning is fun! With various
lessons, children become motivated and there is a major increase in both
education and behaviour. I hope you take everything into account.
Yours Sincerely,
Hana Ismail.

The Mangee
Eyes like flames pierced out
in the semi-darkness. There was tormenting sounds that were haunting my
delicate ear drums. The sewage water was cascading down the temple walls, the
odours were lingering away in my nostrils. There were tally marks engraved deep
down into the concrete walls. The merciless Mangee will tear you up limb by
limb he will eat your raw flesh I could touch the sticky slimy walls .I got a
taste of water it trickled down my face and into my mouth ugh it was disgusting
it tastes like rotten corpes.

Vicious was the mangee
monster; its ravenous claws sinking into the steady walls, the screams
destroying my eardrum. Couragesly I tried to escape the blood-teeming scream.
Subsequently, he could smell my juicy flesh, becoming more and more blood
thirsty, as he was approaching his target, ME! While this ravenous chase, my
heart pounded furiously. I must not forget that he is a impenetrable creature,
as I looked back its scaly skin shone under the gems in the vast temple. When I
looked into his blood-torch eyes, my blood froze like ice in the artic. I
screamed for help wildly. The view was gaunt. Blood dripping from the ceiling
covering the side walls. His horrendous breath was haunting me, my lungs were
breathing bomb gases in, I couldn’t survive any more. It was a dead end when I
was caught. My heart JUMPED as I saw the figure. The
obnoxious smell killed my noise viciously. It was inevitable that he was going
to eat me. In addition, going to chew my flesh! It was like my heart stopping
every 1 minute. I tried to escape as there was blood on the floor. I’d hit my
head. I was on the floor, saying goodbye to my body as I knew as I knew what
the consequences were. The boiling blood rushed around my body, around
600km/h……

Green
backed spider
How
much do you know about the arachnid family? Taking its name from the leading
scientist, Dr Lave this extraordinary arachnid now faces extinction. It is
believed that this fascinating breed of spider is over 200 years old!
Where
it lives
This
special species lives in the wonders of the Amazon rainforest, between the hot
climates of Argentina and Brazil. Here, temperatures can climb up to 50
Celsius. For this reason, the Green Backed spider can be found high up in the
Trapeze tree, which are over 65m high.
What
it looks like?
Covered
with green and black stripes and an unusual pattern, the arachnid beast. It is
so green it can camouflage in the tree. This is how it catches prey.
Why
the spider is endangered?
This
fantastic spider is on the brink of extinction. It is losing its home because
people are chopping down the trees of the amazing Amazon rainforest.

The
Monster
Flash! Instantly paralyzed with fear, I
fainted, with one glimpse of the monster itself. My frozen eyes began to thaw
out, the eerie silence infected my ears. A repeated image of people I know
strangled my mind, ‘don’t go there, where the monster lurks, don’t go down
there where horror lurks,’ they had told me. I turned my head still lying on
the floor like a prisoner by one single glance at that sinister creature. Was
it a figment of my imagination?
“Hello, is anyone there?” I panicked with a
sense of infinite dread within my soul. My voice echoed, piercing my own ear; I
gasped in pain trying to cover my only working sense from my very own tenacious
sound. Where was I? A wafting odour marched up my nostrils. I scrambled to my
feet after the torture had ended. Thud! Thud! Isolated I might be, but I felt I
wasn’t alone in this dungeon. My heart racing as my senses tormented me. A
deafening scream filled the atmosphere surrounding me. I wasn’t the cause…
It came forward, I felt its dragon breath. I
reached for my flashlight with struggle. Glaring painfully bright eyes fixated
on me, I thought my fate was sealed. It had something in its mouth, a skeleton,
a human skeleton, a past victim. A roar filled the ghastly tunnel, as loud as a
meteor crash. Was this the end was it over for me? All my goals I wanted to
accomplish dripped away like my trickling sweat. “My family!” A white arena
appeared in front of me, signalling my death…

Heaven!!!!
Salty scents hang in
the air, wafting further on, invading the fresh stifling air, in the Caribbean.
Repeatedly somersaulting, the waves refused to roll contently on to the damp
golden sand. Birds and creatures, didn’t enjoy the beating rays of the glowing
sun. Still as can be, the waves did not accept the greeting of the dry sand,
ready to be cooled.
